In a few days we will be in Hiroshima, this will be the chance to discover the atmosphere of the city and meet the people who make of Hiroshima a vibrant and charming city, a city on the move.
Here is a selection of 6 things to do in the city during your stay.  
 
1- Peace Memorial Park 
From the park you can see the Genbaku dome, « symbol » of Hiroshima, listed in the World Heritage in 1996, it is the only remaining structure following the bomb on August 6, 1945. 
 
2- Miyajima, the sacred island of Japan
A small island located in the Hiroshima bay, a real favourite with a splendid view, where trees are protected and can not be cut. The tame deers are sacred too and it is a common thing to see them around. The main characteristic of the island is without a doubt the Torii gate, and its floating shinto sanctuary.
 
3- Tasting Okonomiyaki 
It is a kind of big pancake, very popular, with a unique and delicious taste. Squid, cabbage, egg, noodles… You will put anything you want inside ! It is a full and gourmet hearty meal. 
 
4- Wandering in Shukkei-en garden
Open to the public in 1940, this park was actually located about ten meters from the atomic bomb impact point. The past tragedy accents the renaissance and beauty. Discover this plant work of art.
 
5- Being introduced to Japanese fashion

6- Yokogawa, an old and arty quarter
Explore the Yokogawa quarter located at the north of Hiroshima. It is popular and retro, and there coexist an old population who manages 50’s shops and a young population who takes care of art galleries, creative grocery stores, and various festivals. 
 
And finally, see you in the old Hiroshima Municpal Stadium for the first edition of FISE Hiroshima !
