Hotoie Park in Amiens is hosting the 2nd stage of the FISE Xperience Series, where a "nautical" competition is being brought to the festival – wakeboard.
Zoom in on the wakepark
Originating in the 1980s, the sport of wakeboard is a cross between waterski and snowboard. The feet of the rider are attached to a board, which can be used in two ways to facilitate a sequence of tricks. The scoring criteria are based on the expertise of the rider and the daring of the tricks performed.
The temporary Amiens wakepark is tailor-made – a waterski ropeway system 2.0 and a Wakestation 180-metre wire between 2 pylons.
There will be a kicker zone for aerial tricks. and a slide zone – brand new this year and composed of two modules first tested during the FISE World Series in Montpellier.
Antoine Allaux – a rider to follow!
This young rider from Cergy Pontoise will be there next weekend. He took up wakeboard aged 12 and is now one of the best in the world, coming 6th on the 2017 FXS Amiens tour. He trains every day and is definitely one to follow closely.
Also confirmed: Roman Styczen (France) and Charly Robert (France).
