Focus on a rider : Meeting Emmanuel DABONI
Semi-pro Wakesurfer (Outlaw) on the CWSA (Competitive Wake Surf Association) circuit since 5 years. He discovered Wakesurfing in 2009 during an international competition in Annecy. Having always wanted to surf but being without waves in Annecy, it was a revelation. He started with Arnaud Rougier as his coach and he practiced a lot to reach his objective to no longer being just a spectator of that sport.
With good results in France / Genève / Dubaï / Moscou / Zurich, he was invited 4 years in a row to the world tour final in the USA but due to a lack of budget, he could not make the trip. He had to wait until last year (2016) to be able to go to Miami to compete with the best world class wakesurfers of his category. He's currently in 6th place in the ranking.
This year, he entered the Semi-Pro category. The level is way higher and so are his motivation and desire to learn. Plus, with his double nationality, he is followed and supported by his second country, TOGO, that he represents through its colours and multiculturalism.
In 2016, with a group of enthusiasts, he launches and presides over the WFA (Wakesurf France Association) to promote the sport, organise competitions like the European Wakesurf Championship (registered to the World Circuit) which will take place on Annecy's lake from September 1 to 3, 2017 in order to share and bear a passion and lifestyle like he experienced himself.
