FISE World Croatia 2016

Press Conference in Croatia

20 Jul 2016 21:20

The FISE World Croatia's press conference took place yesterday morning in Osijek.

The FISE World Series and Pannonian Challenge organization teams were respectively represented by Joseph Villeflayoux (Marketing director, Hurricane Action Sports), Johan Berthonneau (Sports management director, Hurricane Action Sports) and Jurica Barac (Pannonian Challenge director), Vladimir Ham (Deputy Mayor of Osijek). They were also joined by  Marin Rantes (BMX pro rider, Croatia), Logan Martin (BMX pro rider, Australia), both very proud and excited to take part in this competition with the ensemble of the discipline's professionals who made the trip in numbers on this stop.

Therefore it is a new team, over-excited by this event, that was spread on site, especially around the BMX park. With the same shared values, for the last two decades, that team has taken the challenge to develop extreme sports and continue with this new alliance that is a more than promising sign.

The FISE is really happy and honored today to work with this new country that offers wonderful landscapes, the Pannonian Challenge's team experience being 17 editions strong, also all the event's partners to support this second FWS stopover interlocked in this crazy week of extreme sports.

The Pannonian Challenge will benefit this year from the UCI presence on its weekend of BMX Freestyle Park competition thanks to that young association. It is a very freshly recognized discipline by the IOC (Olympic International Committee) that tends to widen with new categories in 2017 with MTB (VTT), Cross Country Eliminator (XCE) and Trial following the joint effort between the FISE and the UCI.

Here in Osijek, during the next 3 days will take place the second stopover of the first UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup, with an international broadcast through IMG medias, the sports picture world issuer that owns the TV rights of the tour, but also no less than 20 000 spectators expected on site !

So follow closely this new stop under Osijek's sun, a city selected among 20 other destinations due to the attractivity of the country, its position in Eastern Europe that brings together numerous international athletes but also the professionalism of the Pannonian Challenge's organizing team.

See you this morning at 10:00 am for the kick off !
