The BMX world looses a legend, Dave Mirra

There are weeks like that, where there only seem to be bad news. After Kelly Mc Garry, the biking world looses another big piece. Dave Mirra, BMX legend, died last Thursday. He was only 41 years old and was a true legend, an important figure in the discipline and extreme sports. He held the record of the most X-Games medals until 2013 (including 14 gold medals) and was among us at the FISE Montpellier for many years (Nokia FISE at the time).

A true pioneer in the sport, he was the first to land a double backflip during a contest. He was also an inspiring figure for many of today's riders, like Mark Webb or Daniel Dhers. His death is big hit for everyone to take in. We will forever remember the amazing times spent with him on the FISE. RIP to our hero, to this icone of BMX whom we shall never forget. Our thoughts are with his family and friends, and the big BMX and action sports family is truly heart broken.
