FISE World Montpellier 2016

Debrief Day 1

05 May 2016 11:37

Montpellier and the Lez riversides have found again their usual frenzy for the twentieth edition of the FISE. A rendez-vous impossible to miss if you are into sports such as BMX freestyle, Skateboarding, MTB Slopestyle, Roller or Wakeboarding ; the FISE opened serenely despite a wind complicating the Mountain Bike Slopestyle pre-qualifiers in particular. In this gusts of wind little game, Nicolas Terrier stands out and reaches the semi-finals.

Another highlight of this opening day was the Skateboarding qualifiers on the superb park prepared by FISE Area. With the skateboarding prodigy Aurélien Giraud leading the pack of the young and motivated, coming from all over the planet, and an announcer with crazy comments, the large crowd of enthusiasts already had a nice foretaste of the big show coming today with the finals.
While Jérémy Suarez took the win in Roller park and the FISE Métropole tour became a wrap, Wakeboarding closed the day in beauty under the spotlights, with a promising best trick contest for the upcoming pro competitions.
The FISE is well and truly launched ; Montpellier became again the extreme sports capital for a single long week-end, filled with fun and party. See you this thursday may 5 with more qualifiers and the beginning of the eagerly awaited UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup 2016
