FISE World Montpellier 2016

TAKUJI KASAHARA, FLATLAND WORLD CITIZEN

05 May 2016 20:34

35 years old pro BMX Flatland rider Takuji Kasahara is not your usual japanese traveller. He’s not away from home for a week or even two, he’s actually away all year long travelling from place to place. He’s a true world citizen and really busts out as soon as he steps on his bike. The FISE crowd will love him tomorrow friday may 6 in the pro BMX Flat qualifiers from 3:30pm to 5pm.

Takuji, is it your first time at the FISE ?
Yes it is my first time !

What do you think of the event so far ? Pretty crazy right ?
Yeah I was very surprised, this is probably the biggest competition I’ve ever been to ! It’s crazy here !

I know you’re a big traveller so which country are you arriving from this week?
Well, I was staying in South America, in Chile then I went to Barcelona, then Amsterdam and now I’m here !

And what’s next ?
Next I think I’m going to Lyon to check out the flatland scene and after that I’m going to Switzerland to the Bike Days.

All right, that’s good plans ! Last question, what’s flatland for you ?
…mmm that’s a difficult question.

Or…why do you love flatland ?
…mmm that’s a very difficult question (laughter)… Now it’s so natural to me to have flatland in my life so I don’t know…(laughter)

This is a good answer (laughter).
Thanks Takuji !
