Justin Dowell Takes the Win in Shanghai at the UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup Men’s Final

After a rainy start to the semi-finals yesterday, the sun returned just in time to deliver an epic showdown for the second stop of the 2025 UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup, here in Shanghai.
 The 24 riders who advanced from the semis battled it out today in a high-level competition where every second counted. Each rider had two runs, with the best score determining the final ranking

A World-Class Show on the Shanghai Park

The Chinese crowd was on fire as the world’s best riders dropped in for some jaw-dropping runs packed with amplitude, style, and creativity.

Early in the live stream, Dylan Hessey (GBR), the European Champion, a perfect run full of amplitude and style, highlighted by a massive double flair. He scored 88 points on his first run and followed up with 91 points on his second, holding the top spot for quite a while.

Antho JeanJean Shines for France 🇫🇷

French rider Antho JJ brought serious energy to the park with a double flair and a backflip double tail whip, executed with incredible precision.
 His second run was even stronger, scoring 91.30 points — earning him a well-deserved podium finish and a loud ovation from the crowd as he claimed third place.

Rimu Nakamura vs. Justin Dowell

Japan’s Rimu Nakamura delivered two perfectly executed runs, 91.40 points and 91.50 points blending amplitude, flow, and technical mastery.
 But it was Justin Dowell (USA) who took the win with a bold and technical performance.
 His three barspins, fast-paced combos, and clean execution earned him an unbeatable 92.80 points on his second run.
Dowell once again proved why he’s among the top riders in the world, combining creativity, control, and consistency.

🥇 Justin Dowell (USA) – 92.80 pts
 🥈 Rimu Nakamura (JPN) – 91.50 pts
 🥉 Antho JJ (FRA) – 91.30 pts

This Shanghai final will go down as one of the most competitive of the season.


 Next stop: Sakai, Japan, for the third and final round of the 2025 UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup.
