Yu Shoji Wins the UCI BMX Flatland Men Final
The UCI BMX Flatland Men final in Shanghai, the second stage of the UCI BMX Flatland World Cup, delivered an exceptional show with 8 top-level riders, split into 2 heats of 4 riders. Each rider had a 3-minute run to impress the judges. MC and rider Jean-William Prévost hosted the competition in an electric atmosphere.
Group 1: Alex Jumelin Takes the Lead
In Group 1, Alex Jumelin (FRA) dominated the heat, performing iconic FISE tricks to a hip-hop soundtrack, with perfectly executed big boomerang combos. His technical and stylish run earned him 76.33 points, placing him first in his heat and third overall on the podium.
Group 2: Yu Shoji Claims Gold
Group 2 featured 2 Japanese world champions and 2 French riders, highlighting Japan’s major influence on the international flatland scene.
Yu Shoji (JPN), triple winner in Montpellier, took first place in Shanghai with a perfect run, combining control, precision, and smooth combos, scoring 91 points.
Julien Baran (FRA), the “king” of the new French generation, delivered a controlled and stylish run, finished with a Time Machine, earning 82.83 points and second place.
