Interview with Nikita Ducarroz

For the ones who may not know it, today is the international women day, and this is a chance to talk about these girls who take part in the FISE, these girls who are not afraid, these girls who stay low profile in these sports mostly dominated by male athletes. We don't hear much about them but their level is incredible, be it in skateboarding, roller, MTB, wakeboarding or BMX.  In the FISE events, girls have their spot, their class, and we highly encourage them to participate ! 

On this special day, we meet the swiss/american rider Nikita Ducarroz, she loves BMX and she's not only reaching peaks with her riding, but also professionnally. She takes part in many international competitions riding with male competitors and she's not scared. She always wants to go higher and further. The story began six years ago. She spends her time in skateparks such as Claremont in San Diego and loves to create and mix styles in the way she rides BMX. We'll get the chance to watch her on the various FISE World Series 2017 stopovers, the dates will be revealed soon.

What advice could you give to the girls who would like to start riding BMX ? 
"Do it ! If you have fun doing it, it will make you happy, so just go for it. In the beginning it can be intimidating to go in a skatepark but most of the time, all the riders are keen to help you learn some tricks and to advise you. Don't hesitate, it will help you to progress and feel comfortable."

So girls, you know what you need to do now, try the experience !!! 

When we ask Nikita if she ever imagined reaching the level she has today, she modestly answers "no" adding that she often thinks about the time when she started. Her "heroes" became her friends and she simply blossomed in the BMX community, she's realizing her dream. She would like to specially thank her friends, her family and her partners Mongoose, Joby, Clif Bar, G-Form, Troy Lee Designs, Vans, CTI Knee Braces. They all played an important role in her life and her progression in BMX.
