Art and Fise - Nekay and Ceet
Where do you come from ?
Nekay : « Paris area, Savigny-Le-Temple exactly ! »
Ceet : « I'm from Toulouse, I currently live in Hong Kong, it's been 14 years that I've been living in Asia »
What are your specialties in your creations ?
Nekay : « Old school lettering in wild style, so it's pretty agressive lettering. »
Ceet : « In the beginning I was doing a lot of lettering then little by little I started to paint chickens. Why chickens ? Because my beginnings in China were difficult in terms of communication, I had to draw what I wanted to eat if I wanted people to understand me. So I had to draw chickens and it stayed ! »
How did you come to paint that wall ?
Nekay : « We have our own styles, we agreed on the colors, the both of us found our place and there was a great understanding between us. »
Ceet : « Nekay did the lettering, we composed with our specialties. »
What do you think of street art at the FISE ? Do you have suggestions for future editions ?
Nekay : « Both go well together, the word street implies also skateboarding, BMX and it's a great idea to associate these worlds. It would be interesting to have a larger wall and bring international artists, also bring a feminine touch while having woman artists taking part !»
Ceet : « The association is good, it matches our generation, I grew up with guys who skated or rode BMX. It's all connected, we are all from the same medium. For future editions, I think it would be good to have several artists painting at the same time. »
What are the next events or exhibits where we can check you out ?
Nekay : « I'm also doing photography, I'm preparing my website which will be online this summer. I'm involved into a lot of humanitarian projects based around graffiti, like the project for the Broca hospital in Paris with an open day on may 28. I would like to give shout outs to TPM, CP5, MKC, TVA, 176 ! »
Ceet : « I travel all the time, I have exhibits all around the world, the next ones are in New York in december and China in june. »
