Focus on Maeva Lanier, the determined.

Today girls are making their entry in all disciplines, so we take that chance to introduce you Maeva Lanier, young 21 years old skater, proudly representing french female skateboarding and she just finished 2nd of the contest ! 

Hello Maeva, could you tell us a few words about your young career ?

I've been french champion in 2013, I've been coming every year to the FISE since 5 years, where I usually finish second or third. Before, I was doing a lot of french championships and small competitions around home but now I'm in nurse school and also a volunteer firefighter, so I've been going to less competitions but I'm still coming to the FISE, that's the main thing.  That's the only contest I can't miss !

You finished 2nd at the FISE World Montpellier 2015 and 2016, you seem to be holding that place right ?

Ahah yes that's true, I'm super happy, this year there really was a high level.  

What did you think of the new skatepark ?

It's super good, much bigger than the past years and it's more accessible to all classes, sometimes it was a bit difficult for us, some of the ramps were pretty difficult for us. And now there's a bit of everything, like lower curbs, it's good for us as we can adapt and progress.  

You were stressing before the competition ? 

Not so much actually, because I was with my friends so we have fun, we can decrease the stress together, plus it was sunny and the vibe was great, that's cool !  

In your opinion what are the qualities to become a good skateboarder ?

To believe in yourself, to not be scared and have some motivation to progress.  

Next contest ?

At the moment nothing, I have to focus on my exams !
