6 Athletes to look out for at FISE Montpellier

FISE World Series (FWS) Montpellier is back, and it’s bigger and better than ever.

With a stacked roster of athletes – and an even more stacked schedule – it’s difficult to pick just 6 stand-out athletes to look out for at FISE Montpellier.
Nevertheless, we’ve given it a go!

Dennis Enarson
This man needs no introduction.

With an ability to shred hard in street, park or dirt competitions, Dennis is one of the best riders around. Armed with his crazy cannonball barspins, This Aussie is guaranteed box office and we can’t wait to see what he brings to Montpellier.

Hannah Roberts
OK, so this choice is hardly a hidden gem, but when it comes to Women’s BMX Freestyle, it’s hard to look past America’s Hannah Roberts.

Winner of the 2017 UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup and World Championships, and having already won gold at the first stop of FWS 2018 in Hiroshima, it takes a brave person to bet against the teenage superstar continuing her winning ways in Montpellier.

Viki Gomez
Nothing brings out the best in Viki more than performing his nailed-on Flatland routines on the big stage. Well, the stage doesn’t get any bigger than FISE Montpellier so we’re expecting Viki to bring his best.

Mathias delivered an outstanding performance in Hiroshima and Viki had to settle with 2nd place.  Can the Spaniard go one-better when the two Red Bull riders meet again on the banks of the River Lez?

Yuma Baudoin
Here’s a man who was born to (Roller) skate.

The flying Frenchman was a regular on last year’s circuit and never fails to leave crowds in awe of his technical ability and gravity-defying tricks (remember his insane 1200 spin at last year’s FISE Chengdu?).

Yuma will need to deliver the skate of his life to take gold in Montpellier. But with a partisan home crowd behind him and coming off the back of a string of impressive performances, we think he’s got what it takes to skate away with the win.

Danny Leon
We are stoked to see this guy compete at FISE Montpellier.

The Spaniard shredded the skate park at the FISE launch event in Jeddah (taking 2nd place) and we’re convinced his fast and furious style is perfectly suited for the setup in Montpellier.

While Ikeda Daisuke delivered one of the best run’s we’ve ever seen in Hiroshima, if anyone can match the Japanese maestro it’s Danny.

Tom Isted
It takes a special talent to ride pro in two sports. Tom is such a talent: riding pro in BMX and MTB.

We love his love of big (really big) jumps. He’s an out-and-out shredder, fearless and audacious: and the thought of watching Tom attempt a Flip Superman (one of his favourite tricks) at Montpellier ensures the Brit makes this list.

FWS Montpellier takes place 9–13 May 2018. Keep up with the latest news and catch all the action LIVE on FISE Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
