FISE Hiroshima: Names to Look Out For
Hiroshima will soon be teeming with action sport heroes competing at the first stop of the 2019 FISE World Series.
Here are 9 athletes you need to check out – they’ve been on fire in the run-up to this highly anticipated event!
BMX Freestyle Park
24-year-old Arizonian Kevin Peraza lights up any competition with his constant smile and even brighter talent. He has family history in BMX, and brings unmatched inspiration and devotion to the sport: we expect to see some progressive tricks from him this weekend.
BMX Freestyle Park Women
25-year-old Nevada native Perris Benegas is coming off a dominating year. Keep an eye on the winning bar spins, flairs, whips and 360s of this 2018 UCI Women’s Elite BMX Freestyle champion.
Skateboard Street
Fan favourite Manny Santiago is sure to exude high energy, endless positivity and undeniable talent. The legendary Puerto Rican skateboarder started 2019 victorious at FISE Battle of Champions in Saudi Arabia. Will he earn more gold in Hiroshima?
BMX Flatland
Hometown hero Yohei Uchino is a Flatland prodigy. Over a decade ago, the 36-year-old became the first Japanese Flatland rider to take world championship glory. He has continued to command the scene ever since.
BMX Flatland Women
Misaki Katagiri, another Japanese legend, reigned supreme during the 2018 FISE World Series – and she’s back for more! Topping the BMX Flatland Women’s standings with 40,000 points last year, a big display from the 26-year-old is anticipated.
Roller Freestyle Park
The stylish street skating of Yuto Goto – known as the Japanese blading wave – will be gracing FISE Hiroshima. Watch for the amazing lines created by his special blend of Japanese perfection and technical, smooth blading.
Roller Freestyle Park Women
FISE Hiroshima was Manon Derrien’s favourite stop on the 2018 FISE World Series and the French roller star returns as holder of the Roller Freestyle Park World Cup crown. As the reigning champion, all eyes will be on Manon as she weaves some jaw-dropping lines.
Having seen Valentin Dubois at FISE Battle of Champions, we’re hoping for big things from the French freerunner as he looks to make his way up the podium in the World Series.
Josh Levin comes into FISE Hiroshima as one of the USA’s most decorated Climbing competitors. As bouldering continues its growth towards an internationally recognised sport, the 21-year-old is at the forefront of the movement. We can’t wait to see what he has to offer!
