Parkour in the blink of an eye

29 May 2022 18:57

We saw them compete yesterday in the Freestyle finals, and today, Sunday, it is on the Speed event the best Parkour male athletes will battle! The atmosphere is always relaxed on the banks of the Lez, and the public always more receptive: it is under the cheers of the crowd that these finals begin!

After qualifying the six fastest athletes in the semi-finals, let's first mention the main feeling of this competition: the best level of Parkour we've ever seen at the FISE! Everyone has been training hard for the last six months indeed, and it shows in the times: less than 20 seconds for our podium, and less than two hundredths (!!!) to separate our youngest competitor Tomas Zonyga, who just turned 18, and Tangui van Schingen, with respectively 19.83 and 19.81 seconds on the clock! Hardly believable, just like Jaroslav Chum's performance. For his first FISE appearance, the Czech won with a run of only 19.47, certainly enough to make him want to come back!

Even under the sun, you shouldn't have blinked today, because it went really fast on this Parkour area, and you might have missed the fastest run! 19.47 seconds only for the champion, that shows the level at which our athletes have performed this year: so, even faster in 2023?
